Moderating in the Activity Feed
All of the items that appear in the activity feed have only two ways to interact: the view button and the Approve/Disapprove toggle. Click the “view” button to bring up the full post view of the item. Post, comments and identities requiring moderation will also have an Approve/Disapprove toggle.
View: Click this button to view the full post in its location on MySciLife.
Approve: If a student’s post or comment is appropriate, click “Approve” and the post will appear in the community or Main Stream.
Disapprove: If there is a problem with a post or comment, choose Disapprove. When a teacher disapproves a post, that post is sent back into draft mode in the student’s My Drafts. Disapproved comments do not go back into the Draft Center, but they do stay in the teacher’s Activity Feed.

Tip: Moderation is also possible from any Post page. Providing feedback by commenting on a post is not the best way to help students.

Tip: If you want to disapprove a post and provide feedback for that student flip the toggle to Disapprove either in the Activity Feed or in the Post View and, when prompted, add feedback to the disapproved post. This will send a message to your student indicating that their post has been disapproved. The message will also include your feedback. For more information, see the “Feedback on Posts” section.

Important: Feedback is only visible to the student and their teachers.

Tip: If you want a student to correct a comment and submit it again, copy it into a Message to that student with suggestions on how to fix it and try again.
