The MySciLife main navigational menu resides at the top of the screen and will remain “pinned” to the top of the page as the user scrolls.

NOTE: On mobile and on smaller screens, the menu collapses into a "hamburger" style menu in the upper left corner. Click the hamburger to expand the menu and see the options below.
Here’s everything the menu bar can do (from left to right):
A dropdown, selectable list of all communities in which the user is a member. All users will see the “Main Stream” pinned to the top of this menu. Clicking the “M” will also return to Main Stream. The user can select any community from the drop down menu and instantly be taken there. Click “+Join Community” at the bottom of the dropdown menu to be prompted to join a new community with the appropriate join code. See the
Communities section for more information.
A dropdown, selectable list of all identities belonging to the user. The avatar of the identity you have currently selected will show as the identity menu logo and will have a green check mark in the dropdown menu. Identities with a yellow circle have changes that are “pending” (awaiting teacher approval). To switch between identities quickly, you can hover over this menu icon and click on any identity in the Identity menu dropdown. Click “Manage Identites” at the bottom of the dropdown menu to go to the My Identities page. From this page, you will be able to view, edit, or delete any your identities, or create new ones. See the
Identities section for more information.
My Stuff (Backpack)
Hover over My Stuff to see a list of everything that belongs to you in MySciLife, including all of your personal content, listed by category:
- Messages will take you to the message center.
- Drafts will take you to your Draft Center.
- Posts will take you to a page that shows all of your posts in reverse chronological order (your most recent post will be at the top, and your oldest posts will be at the bottom).
- Bookmarks will take you to a page that shows all of the posts in MySciLife that you have bookmarked.
- My Account will take you to your Account Profile page.
- My Archives will appear if you are a part of any archived communities from any school year. If you click the My Archives button, you’ll see a list of possible archives you can view or restore. Only archives created by the teacher can be restored by the same teacher. Archives created by the administrator can only be viewed by teachers and students. All archives are read-only. If you are viewing an archive from a previous platform version of MySciLife (or in some cases a previous school year) you may see a small red banner that reminds the user they are viewing an archive. Click on the banner to return to the current, active platform version of MySciLife at any time.

TIP: The MySciLife archive from a previous year is a handy way to access old identities you may wish to re-create for the new school year using copy/paste. It is also useful for sharing examples with a class.
- Search (Magnifying Glass): Click the magnifying glass icon to access the platform-wide search feature. Type a search term in the shadowbox and click “GO” (or hit enter) to search posts, identities, library items, and announcements that match the search terms.
- Logout (Arrow w/ Door): Click this button to logout.
The Library Slider
The Library Menu is a slider tab that “sticks” to the right side of the screen when not in use. When clicked, the tab slides out to display all of the MySciLife content libraries to which you have access. From here the user can click a library to access its contents.
