Messages Overview

In MySciLife, messages are PRIVATE between a student and their teacher or private to you from the MashPlant system. No one else can see the messages. This includes Feedback on posts.

To access the Message Center, hover over the My Stuff menu (backpack) and click “Messages.” From the message center teachers and students can send each other messages and read both messages they have received from each other, and notifications from MySciLife.

Messages can only be sent to/from the following recipients:
  1. Between teacher and student
  2. Between teachers
  3. Between the MashPlant system and a student/teacher
Messages are color coded based on who sent them. Messages from people (including feedback requests) have a dark blue outline around them. Automated messages from the MySciLife system have a light blue outline around them.

IMPORTANT: At no time on MySciLife can students message one another.

Users have two options on messages, Reply and Delete. Some messages, like ones sent directly by the MySciLife system do not have a reply button.

Users can click “Reply” directly from the Message Center page without navigating into the message view.
