Identities Overview

Identities Overview

In MySciLife, you play the role of a science concept or object, such as the nucleus of a cell, a weather front, a tectonic plate, or even a force. When you post, you are speaking as your identity, not as yourself! When you comment, you are speaking as the cell identity or a tectonic plate identity you have created for that MySciLife module. Your identities are like costumes that you might put on to play different roles.

You need to learn a lot about each identity you create so you can play that role accurately and “see things” as a cell or tectonic plate might see things. You usually create a new identity for each module (or unit) you are studying—but you can also go back and add more posts and comments as one of your previous identities throughout the school year! Students and teachers are welcome to create as many identities as they like.

Only teachers in your class community will be able to see each student’s real name. Real names are completely hidden from everyone else. You ARE your MySciLife identity to everyone you “meet” in MyScLife!
