Sharing Posts

Sharing Posts

Posts can be shared from any one community to another including “upstream” (from a class community to the Main Stream/Teacher Community), “downstream” (from the Main Stream to a class community) or even “cross stream” (from one class community to another). If you create or find a post that you would like to share, simply click the “Share” button on the post.

Sharing a post is dependent on security and access privileges. Users can only share posts under the following circumstances:
  1. The sharer is the author of the post.
  2. The sharer is a teacher with moderation privileges over that post.
  3. The sharer is sharing from a public space (Main Stream or Teacher Community) to a class (private) community. Note: if the public version of the post is deleted, the version shared to the private space will be marked with the following warning “The post content has been removed by the author.”

The moderation settings for a student and the community to which the student is posting determine whether a post needs to be approved by a teacher. Everything posted or shared to the Main Stream or Public Stream must be teacher-approved before it appears on the site.

For more information see the “Understanding & Adjusting Moderation Settings” section.
